Our cadet field cooking equipment collection provides the fundamental tools cadets need to develop practical self-sufficiency during outdoor training exercises. These essential survival items introduce cadets to the important skill of preparing hot meals and drinks in field conditions.
This is a capability that builds confidence while delivering the practical sustenance needed during extended activities.
Field cooking represents more than mere convenience; it teaches valuable lessons in resource management, planning, and self-reliance that extend beyond cadet training. The classic two-piece aluminium mess tin set has introduced generations of cadets to field cooking essentials, providing versatile options for both food preparation and consumption in a compact, durable format that withstands the rigors of outdoor use.
For modern training requirements, our range includes efficient gas stoves such as the Highlander Fast Boil system, complemented by appropriate fuel cartridges in different sizes to match various expedition durations. These contemporary options balance traditional field skills with appropriate technology, teaching cadets to make informed choices about equipment selection based on specific training scenarios.
The proper use and maintenance of cooking equipment develops responsibility and attention to detail. Learning to safely operate stoves, efficiently prepare meals, and properly clean equipment afterward builds practical habits that transfer to all aspects of field operations.
These fundamental skills contribute significantly to cadet independence during overnight exercises.
Since 1949, we have provided quality field equipment that supports cadet training across the UK. Our cooking collection continues this tradition, offering practical tools that develop the self-reliance and outdoor competence that remain central to the cadet experience.
