Our Combined Cadet Force (CCF) badges collection provides the visual recognition system that acknowledges cadet progression through the structured CCF training syllabus. The CCF proficiency star system creates a clear pathway of achievement that motivates cadets while visibly marking their development journey.
The progressive star system—beginning with basic proficiency and advancing through one, two, three, and four-star levels—represents increasing mastery of core cadet skills. Each level builds upon previous learning, creating a structured development pathway that guides cadets through military knowledge, fieldcraft, drill, skill-at-arms, and leadership components of CCF training.
These badges serve multiple purposes within school-based cadet units. Beyond simply acknowledging individual progress, they create healthy aspiration among junior cadets while identifying those who have developed specific competencies.
The visual progression helps establish the peer leadership structure essential for effective contingent operations.
For CCF contingent staff, these badges provide immediate visual identification of cadet capabilities, helping inform training planning and leadership appointments within the unit. The standardised system ensures consistent recognition across different schools while maintaining the structured advancement that characterises military training systems.
Since 1949, Cadet Kit Shop has provided official CCF badges that adhere to organisational standards. Our convenient packs of ten stars accommodate the typical progression patterns of school contingents, ensuring cadets receive appropriate recognition for their achievements within the Combined Cadet Force's successful youth development programme.
