Hexi cookers!
4 out of 5
Hexamine cookers, these are standard issue when going out into the field to cook your rations on. They are small, light-ish weight, and designed for use with mess tins. This is really where it all goes downhill. To start with, the hexi blocks, are very difficult to light, especially with the issued matches, and even if you break them up, you usually need a lighter to light them. The flames put a black coating on your mess tins, that can be difficult to clean, and the fumes that it produces, are poisonous, meaning you cant store it anywhere near any food, water, or anything food or water goes in! I would say the only time i would ever use this now, is when im with cadets. I wouldn't personally buy this if i was going hunting or camping. Its just not worth the hassle!
