Marching Band Division of All Arms Organisation Presents Prize To Best Bugler At The Southern Area ‘Air Training Corps’ Band Competition
The ATC Southern Area Band Competition was held on Sunday 6th November at RAF Lyneham.
It was a busy day with the competition starting at 10.00am and finishing at 5pm that evening.
The four ATC areas who competed were Devon & Somerset, Plymouth & Cornwall, Bristol & Gloucestershire and Dorset & Wiltshire.
The Bands competed for a number of trophies such as best drill, turnout, and best percussion section.
Phil Macefield, Sales Manager of All Arms Marching Division, presented a Silver Bugle to the winner of the best Bugler competition. This was awarded to Flight Sergeant Edward Heard from 2381 Squadron ATC, part of the Devon and Somerset Wing Music Flight.
Phil commented, "We are delighted to be able to be involved in this excellent competition and offer this prize. I felt that the competition was very well organized and that the staff and cadets worked very hard." Praise indeed from a former Bugle Major in HM Royal Marines!
